Castle Prösels
and other cultural sights you don’t want to miss
Sure, Völs am Schlern is a spectacular setting for hiking, biking and indulging in life’s pleasures – including culinary ones. But this charming little village also has several cultural attractions to offer. We recommend taking some time for a sightseeing tour – it’s worth it!
Castle Prösels
This castle, built in 1279, still towers majestically over Völs. Starting from Chalet Kasch, you can get there on foot in approximately one hour by walking along the Mills trail. Explore the castle on a guided tour, be amazed at its impressive collection of weaponry or seize the occasion to enjoy an evening concert in inspiring surroundings.
Peterbühl
On a sun-drenched hill in Völs lies Peterbühl, a historical settlement and the site of remarkable archaeological finds. A chapel with a square tower dating back to the 13th century stands on the same hill.
Bozen
Also known by its Italian name of Bolzano, Bozen is South Tyrol’s main town and is often referred to as the “gateway to the Dolomites”, due to its location in the very heart of the autonomous Province. It lies a 20-minute drive from Chalet Kasch and is well worth a visit with its historical arcades, numerous museums and pleasant parks and walks.
The Christmas market in Völs
Quiet, romantic, contemplative… the small Christmas market in Völs is set up yearly in the village’s church square. Take a walk there from Kasch Chalet and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere as you stroll among the decorated stalls.
Round off your day with a relaxing session in your private sauna!
